Yes, I was talking about J M Straczynski. He's done a run of Spiderman and is doing Marvel's Supreme Power (Squadron Supreme remake). I think the limitations of the SFX budget and genre of Bab5 (not to mention the need to wrap each story into hour-long pieces and not knowing if the show wasgoing to make it another season) made it hard for him to do his best work on that show. Midnight Nation is one of the best book-length graphic novels I've read, right up there with Watchmen.
Another thing is that one of my math professors (old guy, frankly) is a Bab5 fan. Its only his 2nd favourite series, however. His favourite is (*gasp*) Buffy. Weird, huh?

On of the professors in my maths dept got all excited when he found out there was a local sf convention and said he was coming, which was wierd. He hasn't mentioned it since so I geuss he decided not to..
