Flurries of Activity
Have dealt with bunches of stuff: New Starman and BPRDs have been read, most of my homework is complete, as is research coding (until I think of something else I want to add, I'm in "read everything and try to understand it" mode). Just chillin' and letting life move on. Chirpy that S got accepted by MIT for grad school, even though I don't think she's going there. *wry grin*
Also crammed 4 epidodes of CSI into a night and a morning whilst doing all this, so am pretty proud of myself. (yay!)
Unhappy with grading of my math homework (but all the homeworks total to only 5% of the overall grade, and the lowest 70% of homeworks are discarded anyway...), and essentially stormed out of class today because I was fed up at the sanctimonoius ass instructing (grad student, not prof. Prof is too lazy to teach so he co-opted his grad student to teach) . Fustrated too that much of the coding I did today was pointless because of various technical reasons. Then again, as you can see from above, now that its all done, I'm pretty happy. Also a bit miffed that another GSI can't help me with homework (fine, fine, it was actually assigned only yesterday and is due in a week, so no rush...) because he's out of town (applying for jobs or postdoc research or something).
Was reflecting tonight that I'm not sure I can understand how anyone with a family can take a serious consulting/ibanking/etc job which leaves him/her away from home most of the day... I think its pretty sad that society not only accepts such jobs but elevates them because of the sheer wealth they bring in.
Hm... I don't want to end on an unhappy note, because I'm actually quite cheerful tonight. Got invited to picnic over the weekend, so that's good news. *grin*
