Let's get it on, oh Hacker John

Coded my first "useful" app. Good to get serious work done. A hack in the sense that it's code to fufil a purpose that the original programmers never intended, but not a hack in that it's kludgy.

The quote? Neal Stephenson's Diamond Age. Good book. I guess I do feel an odd kinship with an emotionally stunted but brilliant engineer. Not that I would ever claim the mantle of brilliance, mind you, rather "capable of being devious if not for [] staunch moral character."
