Met a woman at Cory Hall today, which is the EECS building. She was looking for Berkeley's William Hung, though the way she said it I thought she meant Williams Hall (which may not exist, come to think about it). William Hung, in case you were wondering, was Berkeley's entrant to American Idol, where he was humiliated on national television and sent packing with two out of three judges laughing their asses off. You can read up on/hear/watch Will at http://www.williamhung.net/.

Back to the point, though. This lady (Chinese, 30s, office outfit but the fact that it was bright red implies that she's probably not really working. Heavy on the ring/bangle/earring combination - looked/sounded rather taitai to me) obviously didn't know her way around the campus (photocopied campus map clutched tightly in one hand, Cory Hall highlighted in yellow), so I can only presume that she's come here from wherever just to meet Will Hung live and in person. (I apparently walked past him last week but clueless as I normally am, didn't even know he was a celeb) . It strikes me as a little strange, that she would take the trouble of coming down to Berkeley, to Cory Hall specifically, and was willing to hang out until she met this person she obviously didn't know. A celebrity was kicked out of competition for being abysmally bad and whose claim to fame is being a good loser. ("I already gave my best. I have no regrets at all.")

Wow.

I'm not sure whether to admire her or conclude that she's a nutcase.
