Wiiner by Default

I just won an election to committee chair by being the sole candiate/nominee who didn't decline the position. Its a good thing that I didn't nominate myself... that would be toooo sad. Ouch. So now I need to organise stuff for next semester. We'll see how my minions work out. Our numbers have been slashed to 3 from 4, and I'm the only one with experience, albeit very limited experience. This does not look so good. On the other hand, the others seem to be pretty active, so they can help cover for their boss' slackness. *grin* The irony is that I may not have made it on the committee if I was only intending to be a committee member...

Next semester's going to be tough, with the new role and whatnots. I was saved from a lousy prof by a friend asking me to swap to another class with him. However, what I actually achieved was to swap an undergrad writing class for a graduate math class. I question the wisdom of this choice, but things will be cool.

Oh, and did I mention I might be teaching next semester? Student run class. I won't be primarily responsible - more involved in planning the syllabus and so on I expect, but it'll be an interesting experience.
